Abstract The publication Notice to Mariners (Grupo de Avisos aos Navegantes – GAN) are broadcast by post or can be viewed here and on the internet on the platform ANAVNET. Monthly Publication: the Hydrographic Institute is the national coordinator of Notice to Mariners. In this context, the Hydrographic Institute collects the necessary information to update the elements contained in the Nautical Charts and Publications, namely through the collection and analysis of local Navigational Warnings and other information provided by the navigators and the various authorities with responsibilities in the area of safety to navigation. Annual Publication: the Annual Notice to Mariners is a publication referred to January the 1st of each year and contains all Special Notices, as well as all Temporary and Preliminary Notices in force. Unlike the Monthly Group publication, it does not correct nautical documents, but complements much of the information on nautical charts, namely the ones related to "Notes". Here you can also find general information and explanations about what are Navigation Notices, The NAVTEX system, etc.
