Abstract
The forecasts for surf are obtained from the WW3 (WAVEWATCH III) and SWAN (Simulating WAves Nearshore) numerical models used for analysis of the waves formed by action of the wind, including its evolution in space and time. It provides sea wave predictions and the surf quality index for each location.
The meteorological information is obtained from the ECMWF, ALADIN and AROME models, provided by the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere, as part of collaboration with HI.
