This website provides access to survey data and reports collected by our offshore renewable and marine aggregates customers.
Developed in 2013 as the first of its kind, the Marine Data Exchange (MDE) manages offshore survey data collected by our customers throughout the lifetime of an offshore project, from feasibility studies through to decommissioning. Whilst the focus to-date has been to work with our customers in relatively new industries, such as offshore renewables, the MDE also contains data from the marine aggregates sector.
Offshore industries, such as offshore renewables, are collecting large volumes of data to understand a range of factors that may impact the feasibility and ongoing maintenance of a project. Therefore, the MDE consists of a variety of data types, covering environmental, physical and social themes. We have categorised each of the surveys held on the MDE against 20 survey categories, including benthic ecology, geotechnical and noise. The majority of surveys on the MDE are from geophysical, bird, fish, benthic and sedimentology data collection campaigns.
