Abstract
The State of the Coasts (SOC) reporting system is a tool for local governments to assess the progress and benefits of Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) implementation. The SOC allows local governments to document and measure the effectiveness and impacts of policy and management interventions in support of sustainable coastal development, and evaluate progress towards local, national and international targets for sustainable development.
The SOC reporting system includes a set of 35 core indicators across a range of issues that must be managed as part of an integrated coastal management program. The table lists the 35 indicators, with description, rationale and data requirements available by clicking on the indicator.
For each indicator, a quick view of how sites across the region are performing is available in the map below the table by clicking on “View in Map” for each indicator. Click on a location in the map for more information about the SOC report for that site.
