Abstract
Animated sea Ice charts around Greenland. DMI regularly prepares escorts for Greenlandic waters. Ice maps help shipping in the affected waters to navigate. The center produces ice maps for three main regions: the Cape Farewell area, the West Coast and the East Coast.
The Cape Farewell area is mapped routinely, whereas the other maps are prepared according to the season and the sailing.
All ice cards use the international ice symbols also called the egg code, while the ice cards and animation shown here are a simplified representation based on DMI's weekly cards, where all ice types are included equally.
