Abstract This project created serial audiovisual digital content about coastal environments, scientific practices, and socio-cultural traditions of a marine protected area in the Eastern Coast of Brazil. It proposed a creative and innovative look at scientific dissemination, with modern formats for the wide public, with open knowledge sharing and transversal approaches to sustainability. The Web-series brings together five themes (Protection of nature; Scenic beauty and coastal and underwater landscapes; Climate change; Socio-cultural enhancement of traditional communities; Promotion of oceanic culture), through videos and high definition images of marine ecosystems, coastal land, and social groups, with a dynamic script adapted to digital platforms. The videos provide information about marine life observatories, long-term ecological research sites, and nature-based solutions to a regional context of social and cultural manifestations. The multiplicity of experienced partners is a distinguishing feature of the project, with the aim of enhancing the co-production of excellence in diversified languages. The content links the local environmental agendas (e.g., management plan) to the national and international discussions in alignment with the sustainable development goals and the UN Decade of Ocean Science. This project adds to the global initiatives to value culture, society, and nature as a fundamental aspect of environmental preservation and the sustainable use of coastal spaces and resources.
