The Portuguese National Oceanographic Data Centre (NODC-PT) is a spatial data infrastructure (SDI) dedicated to the management of marine geospatial data, belonging to a global network of National Oceanographic Data Centres, coordinated by the International Oceanographic Data and Information Exchange (IODE) program of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
This infrastructure aims to be a single and central access point for Portugal’s marine data, whose management is shared by the Hydrographic Institute (IH) and the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere, I.P. (IPMA), under the coordination of the Portuguese Committee for the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (CP-COI).
