MatheO (Master Thesis Online) is the portal for accessing master theses from the University of Liège.
This project, led by libraries, aims not only to provide a solution to the problem of "paper" archiving and long-term preservation but also to offer much wider accessibility and visibility to this work of students, including many are of good quality. The dissertations, without being true scientific publications, represent work and a considerable scientific effort on behalf of the students of the last year of the master's degree who often devote many months to them. They deserve not to stay locked on dark shelves.
In addition, this project allows the implementation of an automated filing process including in particular an " anti-plagiarism " control. Finally, it is part of the libraries' desire to actively participate in the promotion of the Institution and of all of its scientific production, as well as in our Open Access dynamic (see ORBi, PoPuPS).
