Citation
Abstract OceanCurrent provides rapid access to images of satellite sea surface temperature (SST), chlorophyll-a and sea level anomalies with geostrophic surface currents overlaid. Maps are available in near-real time and archived, with the location of in-water data (Argo, ocean glider, SealCTD, surface drifters, coastal radar and ships of opportunity) over-plotted and linked to images of the data. A number of SST products are provided: single pass (AVHRR/VIIRS), four-hourly composites of Himawari-8 SST, 6-day night-only composites, SST anomalies and SST percentiles. These images help put the Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS) data in the context of oceanographic features and events.
