Abstract
The Boletín de Investigaciones Marinas y Costeras is an indexed publication of open access, biannual periodicity and arbitrated under the blind modality. It is aimed at the scientific community and people related to environmental issues in marine-coastal areas, with particular emphasis on tropical America. It considers for publication unpublished works on any topic of research in the sea or in aquatic environments of the coastal zone, carried out in the tropical and subtropical areas of America.
The journal has been edited since 1967 by the "José Benito Vives de Andréis" Institute for Marine and Coastal Research (INVEMAR). Until volume 8 it bore the name of Mitteilungen aus dem Colombo-German Institute for Scientific Research Punta de Betín and between volumes 9 and 24, it was called Annals of the Institute for Marine and Coastal Research. As of 2008, two issues have been published per annual volume, a periodicity that has been maintained to date. The first issue is published in the month of June and the second, in the month of December.
The Marine and Coastal Research Bulletin receives research articles, review articles and scientific notes on an ongoing basis. It is published in English and Spanish in PDF format. It has a digital version that can be consulted at www.invemar.org.co/boletin and a printed version that is distributed nationally and internationally through the exchange and donation system. The journal has been indexed in Scopus since 2016 (Q4 of the Scimago Journal Ranking in the category “Animal Science and Zoology”) and in Publindex (category B).
