Citation
Abstract Data collected by satellites provides a unique and unmatched view of the oceans. However, cloud cover can reduce the coverage, leaving often large gaps with each satellite pass. One solution is to create composite images by blending multiple days worth of data. Here, we are showing the most recent 8-day composite of SST and Chlorophyll-a from Aqua MODIS, courtesy of the NOAA CoastWatch West Coast Regional Node. Toggle between SST (sea surface temperature) and Chlorophyll-a by clicking the buttons.
