Abstract Marine observational data are mainly classified as four disciplines: marine hydrology, marine meteorology, marine biology and marine chemistry. Marine hydrology data refers to the data covering the global ocean areas obtained via observational means like station, buoy and research vessel, etc.. The collected features include temperature, salinity, wave, water level and current, etc.. Marine meteorological data refers to the sea surface meteorologic and marine aerological data covering the global ocean areas obtained via observational means like fixed land station, ocean station, observation vessel, buoy, etc., mainly including sea surface temperature, wind direction of air pressure, wind speed, wind direction, geopotential height and other features. Marine biology data covers the data of America coastal areas, the eastern area of Japan, Ireland,Australia, etc., including the data of zooplankton, phytoplankton, primary productivity, fish, shellfish, etc.; Marine chemistry data covers the data in Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, etc., mainly including dissolved oxygen, PH value, alkalinity, nitrate, nitrite, heavy metal, suspended matter and other marine water quality data.
