Abstract The Indonesian Navy Hydrographic and Oceanographic Center (Pushidrosal) is the Main Command for the Development of the Indonesian Navy which is directly under Kasal. This is based on Presidential Regulation Number 62 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Presidential Regulation Number 10 of 2010 concerning the Organizational Structure of the Indonesian National Army. Pushidrosal is tasked with organizing hydro-oceanographic (hydros) guidance which includes surveys, research, marine mapping, publications, application of the marine environment and safety of shipping navigation, both for the benefit of the TNI and for the public interest and to prepare data and information on defense areas at sea in order to support the task of the Indonesian Navy. In accordance with its main task, Pushidrosal is obliged to prepare and provide hydro-oceanographic data and information for the TNI as well as for the public interest. For the purposes of shipping navigation safety, Pushidrosal has sole authority and legality in the field of hydrography in providing hydro-oceanographic data and information in the form of sea maps, both paper maps and electronic navigation maps and nautical publications.
