searching for ocean atlas will give you all the results for ocean AND all the results for atlas
I made an atlas to use at school.
will match once for atlas
I love the ocean.
will match once for ocean
I made an atlas that is not containing the ocean.

How to use the filters?
you can search with or without filters, filters are here to narrow down your search results using predefined lists
using filters
multiple selects within one filter will be used as OR statements
examples:
selecting both Belgium and France
will show all records where Belgium has been selected and
all records where France has been selected
different filters will be used with AND statement in search
examples:
selecting both Belgium as country and French as language
will show all records where Belgium has been selected as country and
where French has been selected as language
all combination are possible
examples:
selecting both Belgium and France as country
and French and Dutch as language
will show all records where Belgium has been selected as country and
where French or Dutch has been selected as language
and all records where France has been selected as country and
where French or Dutch has been selected as language
without filters
when searching without filters the different words will be searched in all fields that are not a filter
examples:
selecting Belgium as country without the use of a searchword
or selecting no country in the filters and using Belgium as a searchword
will give two different results.
special filters
clicking on the button My Records will show only your records
Type something in the input field to search for a specific text inside all entries of the catalogue.

The ShoreZone mapping system has been in use since the early 1980s and has been applied to more than 120,000 km of shoreline in Alaska, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia. As of 2018, approximately 94% of the state has ShoreZone imagery and of the area imaged approximately 98% is mapped. This project has been funded by NOAA and a number of other agencies and organizations throughout the years.
This standardized system catalogs both geomorphic and biological resources at mapping scales of better than 1:10,000. The high resolution, the attribute-rich dataset is a useful tool for extrapolation of site data over broad spatial ranges for creating a variety of habitat models and oil spill response tools.
Low tide, oblique aerial imagery sets this system apart from other mapping efforts. You can "fly the coastline" (aerial video), view and download still photos, and access physical and biological data using our interactive website. Power users can download the entire ShoreZone geodatabase.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Fisheries and Aquaculture Department has published an aquaculture photo library where photographs taken by FAO aquaculture officers and consultants working in the field are stored. The main goal of the photo library is to make available to internal and external users photos focusing on global practices of aquaculture. This Web representation is not to be considered as a final static product, but will continuously be revised and updated through inputs provided by the users. This online photo library is especially addressed to extension services, aquaculture research centres and educational institutes that can use the photo library to learn more on aquaculture by means of a visual approach.
Users may enquire with the online system what kind of pictures they are looking for, by typing a word on the search box in the home page or by performing an advanced search. The system will lead the user to the result page with small "thumbnail" previews of the pictures that fit the request along with a short caption and basic information as to when and where the picture was taken. By clicking on the thumbnail, the user can access the record of the photo.

Index of coastal eutrophication (ICEP)
This video shows how the index for coastal eutrophication potential (ICEP) is measured. it is based on loads and ratios of nitrogen, phosphorus and silica delivered by rivers to coastal waters. This indicator assumes that excess nitrogen or phosphorus relative to silica will result in increased growth of potentially harmful algae (ICEP>0)

Live Video from Axial Seamount - Ocean Observatories Initiative
Every 3-hours from 250 miles off the Oregon coast, and 1 mile underwater, HD video streams in live over the Internet through the OOI’s Cabled Array in situ camera system. Live video streams of an actively venting hydrothermal chimney occur during the hours of 2:00, 5:00, 8:00, and 11:00 EDT & PDT day and night, for a duration of 14 minutes.
In addition, as of November 2016, the camera now records for 24 hours non-stop on the 10th and 20th of every month, and 72 hours non-stop from the 1st to 3rd of every month, to examine animal behavior, diurnal/tidal cycles, and longer-duration changes in hydrothermal flow.

Citing OOI Data The “Ocean Observatories Initiative” should be cited as the source for any data used in research projects or papers derived from OOI instrumentation, including posts on social media where a link to the OOI data must be provided. General Data Source When citing OOI as the general data source, we encourage authors to use the following format: NSF Ocean Observatories Initiative Data Portal, http://ooinet.oceanobservatories.org. Downloaded on (date_accessed). Specific Instrument and Time Frame When citing data from a specific instrument and time range, we suggest the following format: NSF Ocean Observatories Initiative Data Portal, http://ooinet.oceanobservatories.org, (data_type, reference_designator) data from (start_date) to (end_date). Downloaded on (date_accessed). For example: NSF Ocean Observatories Initiative Data Portal, http://ooinet.oceanobservatories.org, Bottom Pressure Tilt (RS03CCAL-MJ03F-05-BOTPTA301) data from 25 January 2015 to 25 May 2016. Marine Science Videos - French research institute for the exploitation of the sea
The objective of this portal is to give you access to recent video data produced during the Ifremer submersibles dives (ROV Victor 6000 and Nautile). At a later stage this portal will present other video types:
- historical Ifremer submersibles videos,
- videos from other Ifremer vehicles or equipment (SCAMPI, Pagure, mini ROV, HROV, towed cameras),
- videos from Ifremer observatories or fixed points (ex: STAVIRO),
- similar videos acquired by other institutes using their own equipment.
The presented videos are organized by oceanographic cruise, submersible, dive and camera. Metadata relative to submersible dives and acquisition conditions are proposed together with this data: submersible position and attitude, temperature and salinity conditions, camera position and configuration. Comments recorded simultaneously with the videos are displayed if existing.
Images acquired during corresponding operations are accessible in addition to the videos.

Since the 1992 launch of Topex/Poseidon, Cnes have been involved with Nasa/JPLin providing information about satellite altimetry techniques, applications and science to the world. Outreach is a means of explaining the data, what they allow, to ensure that altimetry data and information are used, and to attract attention on the technique and its usefulness in everyday life.
